Oh, The Places You’ll Go! 7 Lessons from Dr. Seuss for Entrepreneurs

Theodor Seuss Geisel, better know as “Dr. Seuss,” had such an inventive way of imparting wisdom. Of the more than 60 childrens books published by Giesl, one of my favorites is Oh, The Places You’ll Go! This book is often quoted at graduation ceremonies and is considered by many to be a great career guide. I found that the book also offers practical advice for entrepreneurs.

Here are 7 lessons I learned from Dr. Seuss:

  1. You possess all of the basic skills you need to accomplish your goals.
  2. Carefully evaluate new ventures or opportunities.
  3. By expanding your horizons, you expand your potential for success.
  4. Be a leader in your niche by being the “best of the best.”
  5. When obstacles arise, be prepared to overcome them through ingenuity. Evaluate the situation and take action.
  6. There is no such thing as “perfect timing.”
  7. Don’t allow fear to keep you from moving toward your goal.

“You’re off to great places; today is your day! Your mountain is waiting; so get on your way!” ~Dr. Seuss
